Thanks to all who helped with Elliot's Eagle Project! The new Holt House Fire ring and circle of benches look GREAT!
Tonight: 6:30pm PLC and 7pm Advancement Night Meeting (note early start time) Please bring tents from the previous campout if you've dried them at home.
- Also, TURN IN HEALTH FORMS TO JEANNINE VICTERY! We need complete health forms in for Ransburg. Have them ready by 5/12/25. Absolutely no later than 5/19/25. We need at least one week to copy all of them as the forms we turn into Ransburg are not returned to us. Include a copy of health insurance card and vaccine records. Full Health Form here
Crossover Families Please have your scouts look over the Patrol Patches to come to the next meeting 5/12 with ideas for their patrol name. - T133 Crossover Patrol: Crosby, Roark, Miles, Reid, Nate, Everett, Elijah - T1033 New Patrol: Trudy, Evie, Lili, Savi https://tradingpost.classb.com/see-all-boy-scout-patrol-patches/
- Thanks to all for RSVPing for Recharter/Renewal! We got most of the scouts and adults through the system. - However, there are several adults who do not yet appear on the Troop Roster via my.scouting. Most likely the issue is due to expiration of YPT (must be taken every two years). If you are on that list (Fackler, Hammes, Kennedy, Lutes, Sam W, Jackson), please login to my.scouting and complete YPT to see if that will automatically renew you back into the Troop. If you take those steps, and it doesn't resolve the roster, let us know and we will follow up with the council office.
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an action-packed program designed to provide Scouts with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. This program is the centerpiece of the council’s youth training opportunities, providing local units with outstanding youth leaders and giving those participants the tools and leadership ideals that will serve them well in whatever they do.
Crossroads of America Council offers NYLT over a two weekend course format that can be attended in spring or in fall. For the two weekend courses participants must attend both weekends to complete their training.
Scouts BSA members must be First Class rank and at least 13 years old. They must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST).
Fall Course - 9/5/25-9/7/25 and 9/19/25-9/21/25
REGISTRATION: - register and pay on the council website. However, you can also RSVP on the calendar event so we can track training and camping nights.
$345 per participant and includes all food, materials, NYLT course wear, and recognition Application must be received by March 1st (April course)
Adults: come one, come all! Fall Course is open for registration. And Gary will be helping staff the event! Registration isn't open yet, but mark your calendars if you are considering: - Weekend #1: 7am Friday 9/19/25 - 7pm Sunday 9/21/25 - Weekend #2: 7am Saturday 10/4/25 - 7pm Sunday 10/5/25
Our Troops run our own Board of Reviews for Tenderfoot through Life Rank. The Eagle Review Board happens at our District Level. But that is also run by volunteers, and they are seeking volunteers: - Eagle Boards of Review. First Sunday of every month. - Eagle Project Proposal Review. Meet with scouts via zoom to discuss project proposals.
You don't need to be a long time scouter veteran. Just a basic understanding of the scouting program, and interest in supporting youth. Talk to Gary for more info if you are interested.
Monday 5/12/25: 6:30pm PLC, 7pm Advancement Night Friday 5/16/25: 6:30-9:30pm Game Night Friday-Sunday 5/16/25 - 5/18/25: OA Spring Ordeal Monday 5/19/25: 6:30pm PLC, 7pm COH Friday 5/23/25: 6:30-9:30pm Game Night Saturday 5/24/25: 7am-3pm 500 Parade Chair Set-Up Monday 5/26/25: 10am-2pm Memorial Day Flag Ceremony
For my Eagle project, I will be building a new smokeless fire pit and benches on the east side of the Holt House garage. This new space will be used for flag retirement ceremonies and rank advancements for all of the units supported by the Holt House. We are also placing a new flag collection box inside the Glendale Library so that people in the community can easily retire their worn flags. We will have lots of jobs with varying levels of difficulty, so all are welcome. Please bring your shovels, rakes, and wheel barrows to help with the latest improvement to the Holt House. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and RSVPs are greatly appreciated.
Although rain prevented scouts from Plan A horseback riding this weekend, they had a great pivot to Plan B and got a train ride in and tour of historic Connorsville IN.
Tonight: PLC and Parent Meeting canceled due to competing events at Eastwood and North Central
